Pillars of eternity 2 classes tier11/14/2023 It does work in very specific instances - Ancient Druid/Priest of Berath with a particular staff, for example, but mostly you are throwing away the best levels for both classes, so you need some kind of synergy between the classes to make it worthwhile.ĭruids great maelstrom at PL9 is arguably the strongest nuke spell in the game (especially when stacked with some +PL gear like chromoprismatic staff or deltros cage and lord darryns voluge) and can be reason enough to go single class druid. The place to be careful is caster plus caster. Theurge is another good one, although that will likely be more damage focused and less of an offtank. ![]() Herald can single handedly heal a party, offtank, and/or do decent damage - even on boss fights if you are willing to use the occasional healing potion. Martial plus caster can also work well, where the caster class provides support for the melee class - buffs/debuffs, for example, for a Spellblade or Battlemage, or a martial class mixed with Soul Blade Cipher where the damage from the martial class generates focus to be consumed with Soul Annihilation.įor support - Chanter plus almost anything else makes you a support class if you use Ancient Memory. If you're ranged damage, double up on marital damage classes, for more resources. If you're a tank or offtank, multiclass with damage classes like Rogue, Ranger, Monk, or Barbarian. If you're melee dps, multiclass with something to make you sturdier, like Fighter, Paladin, or Chanter. I can't think of a martial class that should NOT be multiclassed, unless you have a specific single class build in mind. The top two levels of Druid aren't as overpowered in the same way. The thing those three have in common are being casters with amazing abilities in the last two spell levels. ![]() The exceptions in my games are Aloth (pure Wizard), Xoti (pure Priest), and my Watcher (Ascendant Cipher - which really only works as a single class).
